Medicine from Sky

The ‘Medicine from Sky’ project was launched by Telangana civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. This project is the first of its kind in India.

This project ‘Medicine from The Sky’ was launched on 11th September 2021. This project was launched with the aim to transport medicines and vaccines to the rural areas through drones.

About the project:

  • It will be taken up to the 16 green zones on pilot basis
  • The data of this ‘Medicine from Sky’ will be analyzed for 3 months
  • Later the data will be analyzed through the health ministry along with, IT ministry, state government and central government and then a model will be made for the whole country.

Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and State ITE & C, I&C and MAUD minister KT Rama Rao and other dignitaries were present at the project launch. This project also benefits the drone industry and new innovations in the country.

Drones can help to access the inaccessible areas and allow to access to basic services like healthcare for even the farthest and remotest area in the city. ‘The Medicine from Sky’ also benefits the entire ecosystem.

The Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that by 2030 India is set to be the drone hub of the world.
