Gopalan college of engineering and management, organized an orientation programme for the first year B.E students on 3rd December 2022. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr.Nagappa Veerappa Bakkannanavar,Head-information resource centre,TCS and other dignitaries.
Dr.Nagappa Veerappa Bakkannanavar,while delivering a speech on the occasion, said that it was not the events but the attitude that caused success. He also stressed the importance of dedication to one’s profession and the need to have proper planning before taking up and implementing any project.
Dr.Basavaraj C ,Principal GCEM briefed the students about the rules,regulations and facilities of the institute and requested the students and parents to understand and abide by the institutional rules and norms.
Dr.R Karonamoorthy,Administrative Head,Gopalan foundation, expressed his gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution.
Dr.Purushotham, Head of the Department of Aeronautical engineering gave necessary information about the academic design of the first year B.E Course and the University and Institute rules and regulations regarding academic matters.
Dr.Somasekar J, Head of the Department of Computer science and engineering welcomed the gathering. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.KrishnaKumar Department of electronics and communication engineering.
