Objectives:
The primary objective of the IEEE Student Chapter Inauguration at GCEM, held on 15th March 2025, was to establish a dynamic platform for students to engage in research, workshops, conferences, and global networking opportunities. The event aimed to enrich students' technical knowledge and foster the development of essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. Furthermore, it sought to strengthen institutional connections with the IEEE community and promote continuous learning and professional development among students.The event commenced with an invocation song and a lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the beginning of knowledge and enlightenment.
Esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Srinivas Talabattula and Dr. Archana Mathur, graced the event with their presence and insightful addresses. Institutional leaders, including Principal Dr. Arun Vikas Singh, shared their vision for the chapter's future. The official inauguration ceremony symbolized the start of a collaborative journey towards innovation and learning. Academic achievers from various semesters were honoured with certificates, emphasizing the value of academic excellence. A thought-provoking technical talk on Quantum Computing was delivered by Dr. Srinivas Talabattula, providing valuable insights into emerging technology. Introduction:
On March 15, 2025, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Gopalan College of Engineering successfully inaugurated the IEEE Student Chapter, marking a significant milestone for the institution. The event aimed to foster student engagement in technology and innovation, featuring distinguished chief guests, Dr. Srinivas Talabattula, Professor, ECE at the Indian Institute of Science and former Chair of the IEEE Photonics Society and IEEE Communication Society, Bangalore Chapter, and Dr. Archana Mathur, Professor at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology and Treasurer of the IEEE Computer Society, Bangalore Chapter. The inauguration included an insightful technical talk on Quantum Photons by Dr. Srinivas Talabattula, along with keynote speeches by esteemed guests and faculty members.
