Industrial Visit to URSC, ISRO

Report:

The industrial visit to U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, Bengaluru was organized by Department of Computer science and engineering to provide students with firsthand exposure to satellite technology and space research. This visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the field of aerospace and satellite technology.

We arrived at URSC, ISRO, Bengaluru at 10:20am, where we were welcomed by officials. A brief introduction to ISRO’s history, achievements, and the role of URSC in satellite development was provided.

A senior scientist conducted a presentation explaining:

  • The functions and contributions of URSC in India’s space missions.
  • The process of designing, assembling, and testing satellites.
  • Information about various communication, navigation, and remote sensing satellites built at URSC.

Objectives of the Program:

The main objectives of the visit were:

  • To understand the functioning and operations of URSC.
  • To gain insights into satellite design, development, and testing.
  • To explore career and research opportunities in the space sector.
  • Gained knowledge about satellite fabrication, testing, and launch processes.
  • Understood the importance of research and development in space technology.
