Engineers are creators of new world with Electronics & Communication is one of the most exciting branch and has been contributing tremendously to this. The branch ELECTRONICS stands for “ Ever Learning Ever Creative Through Research Onsetting New Inventions Comforting Society ” is at the cross roads between hardware and software leading to learning over wide spectrum which includes communication systems, VLSI design, Embedded systems, Digital signal processing, controls systems, Electromagnetic fields and waves, Antennas, Microwaves and Radars, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, IOT etc. This integrates to create better, safer technologies like car, aircrafts, mobiles, smartphones and SurgicalRobots.

The Department provides a very good ambience for learning and development as it Encompasses with a healthy blend of experienced professors with Ph.D. qualifications and young highly efficient staff members with most of them currently undergoing research with rich experience in teaching. Also there are many research papers being published in reputed international and national journals by various staff members including few patents.

There is an excellent infrastructure in the department which houses all the labs and caters to the experiments over and above stipulated by the university curriculum. Also has a research center with licensed software’s. This helps the researchers to carry out their work smoothly and students to do their projects in-house. To keep in pace with the compatibility of industry requirement students will regularly undergo skill development workshops from various industries in the department. Apart from these there are also Seminars and Guest Lecture talks from top academicians and industrial experts.

Since the staffs are from diverse fields and with their committed teaching makes the student to have an all-round development with discipline. The teaching is carried out starting from the basic concepts to higher level learning synergetic with hands-on experimentation. The teaching methods go from chalk and talk to ICT tools. To bridge the gap between institute and industry for the high dynamic changes taking place in technology the department has signed MOU with professional bodies like IETE and various industries. The department conducts symposium “GETOCS” annually to make students showcase their technical talent and also industrial visits on regular basis alongside encouraging for Internships other than university curriculum. The students passed out from here have been placed in good industries and some of them have pursued higher degrees in reputed institutes including IIT.

The students obtaining the degree from this branch have wide open opportunities as it is unification of hardware and software. To name some of the government and semi-government organizations, we have DRDO, LRDE, ISRO, HAL, BEL, and BSNL. There are numerous private industries like HONEYWELL, AMD, INTEL, CISCO, SIEMENS, ROBOBOSCH, PHILIPS etc.
