The world today has been exploiting its resources and one of these resources are the opposite living beings who cannot voice for his or her own – animals. Humans consciously care only about other human beings and they somewhere forget about these voiceless creatures. As an Architect we must shape and remodel the world. More than an Architect it must be an integral a part of a person's being to be selfless and look after the opposite beings too.
Millions of shelter animals are being killed per annum which is both dreadful and expensive. This amount can be decreased greatly if humans acted more responsibly towards the creatures they have domesticated. How can we, as architects, encourage the society to interact more with animal shelters? How can the planning affect both physical and emotional health of those animals? Can architecture raise awareness about the other living beings in our urban civilization? Architecture for animals explores a couple of design approaches which will teach people about shelters and concrete animals and the way physically different we are from them.
In the recent years, Architecture and Engineering are one among the driving forces of Sustainable development. Continuous harmony between man and nature must occur within sustainability itself because nature is the core of sustainability. How can architecture contribute to sustainability in it entirely then? This is one way to enhance both the future of design as well as the future of the natural habitat. So let’s save them all!
