“It is very suffocating here, but I know the wait is worth. I am setting up myself comfortable in this congestion day by day. I can hear that music mamma, its lovely. Hey! here comes papa, look what he has got. Wow! fruits, sweets and my favourite kesari. I am going to eat all of them to look healthy and beautiful, perhaps my parents are going to see me for the first time. I am so happy and excited. They are putting a solution on mamma’s tummy, may be to have a clear picture. 3…2…1… here I am… wait, papa looks upset! and why is mamma crying? Is it because I am a girl, I thought I was their baby first.”
SHE never saw the face of this world.
“GIRLS ARE THE SPIRIT OF OUR NATION,
SAVE THEM AND STOP THEIR EXPLOITATION”
WHERE IS A GIRL SAFE?
In a mother’s womb or in the streets of Delhi. Let’s throw some light on the present-day situation. Every day about 2000 girl children are killed in the womb and those who are luckily born are subjected to molestation, rape or domination. In her course of life from a baby girl to an old grandmother, she has got deadly hurdles of insecurity. If Late night parties, short dresses and travelling alone are the only reasons of these massacres, then let me tell you that there is a great difference between a 6-months baby, a 6-year-old girl, a 16-year teenager and an old lady in her 60s.
“A 9-MONTHS BABY IS SUBJECTED TO RAPE AND BEHEADED.” is it because she didn’t cover herself fully.
“A 6-YEARS OLD GIRL IS KIDDNAPPED AND RAPED FOR 5 DAYS AND KILLED.” is this because she was playing alone.
“A 19-YEAR TEENAGER IS MOLLESTED AND RAPPED BY HER CLASSMATES.” is it because she was good to her fellow mates.
“A 60-YEAR OLD LADY WAS RAPED AND LEFT ON THE STREETS TO DIE.” is this because she can’t fight back.
WHAT IS THE REASON BEHIND?
As I said, the highly heard voices point out ones dressing, choices and freedom. The society has created a state where a girl should be ready for the consequences if not covered completely.
Rapes occur when desires are stronger than morals, when the justice is always in search of evidence rather than using common sense, when you think no body would know and even if they do, nothing is going to change.
“A GIRL WILL BE CALLED SAFEONLY WHEN HER CHARACTER IS NOT
DECIDED ON THE LENGTH OF HER DRESS”
WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?
We are all the same species with equal roles to play. A man may be physically dominant, but a woman can bear a pain of 20 bone fractures at a time. A woman may give birth, but a man is the key behind. The society plays a major role in creating differences. In major parts of India, women are considered weak and pleasure toys. They are given less opportunities and restricted in their choices. When Men are considered dominant, then they should also be taught their responsibilities. The rights of women would not be obtained with Feminism but can be fulfilled if a brother and sister are equally treated at every home.
Every child must be taught with ethics and morals. One should understand the importance of their opposite sex in their lives and develop mutual respect.
The taboo on SEX is to be removed. Porn should not be the source of SEX EDUCATION to teenagers. Schools and collages must strive to clear the misconception about SEX and let students understand it as an important part of life.
No need of bringing strict laws, at least looking at such incidents as high priority would bring a difference.
“PROSPERITY OF A COUNTRY RESTS IN THE RESPONCIBILITIES OF ITS
CITIZENS, LATER COMES THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT”
WHAT IS A GIRL’S JOB?
In the current day situation, a girl must always be alert and equip herself to face the worst case.
Sharing their live locations while travelling alone or while going to a new place is a smart work.
Being independent and taking risk has got a whole lot of difference which is to be well understood.
WHAT IS A GUYS JOB?
Taking the same responsibilities of a stranger as they do for their sister.
Treating their fellow women with equal respect.
Being a dominant gender doesn’t make you a man if your strengths are forced on a woman.
WHAT IS THE PARENTS JOB?
Keep a watch on your son, the way you monitor your daughter.
“LET YOUR DAUGHTER GROW, BE HER FRIEND NOT HER FOE.”
A girl who can stand for herself.
