Site Planning Expert Talk by Ar. Dhanakoti
The resource person highlighted on the importance of Site Planning as a tool that can be made use of in our designs. The talk was attended by students of 7th and 9th semester who require a sound knowledge of the topic for their design studios.
Some of the highlights of the talk is as follows. Through efficient site planning one can make good use of the site’s potential and thus, capitalize its unique character. Site planning is a preparatory step and it involves researching, analysing and synthesizing- research: understand the surrounding context, climate, topography, etc; analyse: using bylaws and standards; synthesize : derive what is understood from the study and come to a conclusion. Based on these three step, one can achieve optimized building forms, sustainability, relevant technology usage,which then makes our design an all rounder.
