Mr. Ghani Zaman a photographer and a Bamboo structure expert works with eco friendly bamboo construction in the North eastern states o f Indian in collaboration with the respective state governments and NGO’s.

The workshop conducted by him at the construction site of a café design near Hoskote, Bengaluru was attended by the 5th Sem students of GSAP along with the facultie,s Ar. Poorani Balamurugan and Ar. Vijaya Hegde to incorporate a hand-on-experience for the students.

The students were able to understand the use of different types of bamboos for various applications in the construction of a building. They also had a hands-on-experience by cutting the bamboo shoots and learning the typical joinery details. Additionally students were explained about the traditional stabilized mud block wall and jack arch roof used in the construction of walls and roof structure.
