The Project

To learn how to quickly prepare a base map for use in the urban design studio's survey. The soft wares used were google Earth, Q GIS, Arc GIS, and Auto CAD.

Outcome

• The students created a base map that included all of the different layers, such as building footprints, transportation corridors (roads, rail, and metro), contours, electricity lines, water bodies, and flora, among others.
• The students learned how to create a base map using Google Earth, ARC GIS, and Auto CAD software.
