Visit To Hoodi Substation 400 KV /220 KV

Hoodi Substation is a receiving station at Hoodi Bangalore receiving about 400 KV voltage which is stepped down to 220 KV and then sent to the next station where it is further reduced to 33 KV and distributed to the BESCOM. Students of the 4th semester were taken to this substation as a part of their syllabus. The officials in the substation briefed the students about the following:

  • Electricity received and distributed to places.
  • Parts of the substation.
  • Voltage involved in the operation of the substation.
  • Mechanism of operation.
  • Safety measures followed.
  • Working of the control room along with the smart access devices.
