Capacity Building Programme

The “Capacity Building Programme” was organized in 6th floor seminar hall on 08-07-2025 at 10:00AM. All the heads of the various departments along with the faculty members attended the program. Program started with a formal welcome address by Dr. Arun Vikas Singh, Principal, GCEM in which he welcomed the speaker “Dr. G Sadashivappa”, currently working as Professor in Rajarajeshwari College of Engineering. With 3 decades of academic experience and 2 years of industry experience. He had worked as controller of Examination for 6 years in RV College of Engineering.

Dr. G Sadashivappa mainly spoke about the autonomous and how to manage autonomous as follows:

1. Importance of Technical Teaching & Autonomy

Emphasis on academic autonomy as a tool for:

Grading System Overview:

• Grade points: 10 to 1 scale
• Classification: Distinction, First, Second, Pass, Fail
• CGPA to Percentage* conversion explained
• SGPA & CGPA formulas:
• SGPA = Sum of (Credits × Grade points) / Total credits per semester
• CGPA = Cumulative performance across all courses

The speech was quite interactive and all the faculty members seems enthusiastic and active throughout the session. To conclude with Dr. Arun Vikas Singh, Principal GCEM along with Dr. K Natarajan, Principal scientist, GCEM, felicitated the speaker and the chief guest “Dr. G Sadashivappa” with a small token of gratitude from GCEM management, administration, and faculty for he shared his knowledge and insights with all our faculty today. To deliver a formal vote of thanks, Dr. K Natarajan thanked the speaker and Director, Principal and all the faculty for their support and time. The session concluded with group photo with the speaker and all the faculty.
