Objectives of the Event:
The objectives for the TechQuiz included:
1. To provide a platform for students to test and expand their technical knowledge through a quiz and word search.
2. To encourage students to work collaboratively in teams, enhancing their communication and team-building skills.
3. To stimulate a healthy competitive environment where students strive for excellence and demonstrate their problem-solving abilities.
4. To create an engaging and enjoyable learning experience that combines technical challenges with interactive activities.
On June 19, 2024, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Gopalan College of Engineering and Management held a Technical event named CodeQuest for students in the 4th, and 6th semesters. This event was organized by the Club TechEon, and it contained 2 events namely a Technical quiz and a Wordsearch round.
The events were conducted in teams of 4. There were a total of 10 teams. All the teams were formed at random by the organizers. These teams were made at random to help the attendees learn to communicate with new people.
The first round was the Tech quiz that comprised of 15 questions ranging from easy to hard questions. The teams were given a total of 10 minutes to answer all the questions. Everyone diligently worked together to solve the quiz. Two teams scored a perfect 15 out of 15.
The second round was the Wordsearch round. Sanjay organized this round. There were a total of two different wordsearches in this round. The teams were given 5 minutes for finding the words in each of the wordsearches. All the words were related to computer science and to courses that the attendees were studying. Every word that was being found had points allotted depending on the difficulty in finding the word within the word search.
The winners were decided by adding the points gained from both the rounds. The winners for the CodeQuest were Rakshitha M(6th sem), Sona(6th sem), Vivek(4th sem), Yashwini(4th sem).
Outcomes of the Event:
The outcomes of today's full stack development event include:
1. Participants demonstrated an increased understand, as evidenced by their performance in the quiz and word search.
2. Participants demonstrated an increased understanding of technical concepts, as evidenced by their performance in the quiz and word search.
3. Participants had the opportunity to meet and network with peers from different classes, fostering a sense of community within the department.
